What do we do?
We believe that two-dimensional chromatograhy can be simply implemented in an "add on" approach.
We sell the software and hardware that lets you configure a normal one-dimensional chromatograph into a two-dimensional instrument. You add a pump, a column, a valve and some other components plus our software and hardware interface. Our product works with detectors from one-channel detectors such as the evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) to multi-channel detectors such as mass spectrometers and diode array detectors (DAD's). Our product has been used for over 4 years with stunning results with applications from polymer analysis to proteomics and metabolomics.
The time for routine usage of two-dimensional separations by liquid chromatography is long overdue.
Background
Due to selectivity limitations inherent in any single-column separation technique, complex sample fractionation often requires more than one column or separation axis for single component resolution. Multidimensional liquid chromatography is a powerful technique which when run in the so-called "comprehensive" mode can provide far more zone resolution than single column techniques.
